  • New DEA Registration Options

    7th August 2008
In response to feedback from DEAs and Landlords, EPC2Let has overhauled the Registration options available to DEAs!

    What are the new Options?

    Option 1 – Price £ 150.00

One Area Post Code (eg BS) Plus 5 District Post Codes (eg BA1, BA2, BA3, BA14, SN12).

    Option 2 – Price £ 100.00

1 Area Post Code only (eg PE, HR, TR, EX)

    Option 3 – Price £ 50.00

    5 District Post Codes only (eg BS39, BA1, BA2, BA14, SN12)

    Registration Limits

Area Post Codes will be limited to 4 DEAs per Area Post Code. There is no limit on the number of DEAs registered in District Post Codes, although this may change in the future.

    Search Results

Search results will display all Registered DEAs in random order on one page, with each DEAs business base District Post Code displayed, along with a brief explanation of this to the user.

    Live Enquiries

There is no longer a Finders’ Fee when registering to receive Live Enquiries.

    Why have we done this?

To provide more scope to DEAs who take the view that covering a larger area will benefit them and appeal to DEAs who want to cover District Post Codes in a different Post Code Area from the one they select (Option 1).

To provide a more attractive Registration option for DEAs in rural and semi-rural areas (Option 2).

To provide a low cost option for DEAs who want to concentrate on local work (Option 3).

The changes are in response to feed back from DEAs and Landlords alike.

What if you have already registered with us?

If you have already registered 5 District Post Codes, you will receive one Area Post Code registration free.

If you have registered less than 5 District Post Codes, we will contact you to explain the price of upgrading, ask you which Option you would like to upgrade to or whether you would prefer to leave your registration as it stands with no additional charge. All you have to do is confirm your choice and we will invoice you for any additional registration fee due. Your post codes will remain active throughout this change.

In any event, you will be able to upgrade to one of the options at a discount, leave your registration as it is with no additional charge, or request a full refund if you decide to cancel.

  • EPC2Let Launches ‘Live EPC Enquiries’

    25th June 2008
We have added an exciting new feature to the EPC2Let website: Live EPC Enquiries.

This is a brand new service for Landlords and Letting Agents who, after searching EPC2Let, cannot locate a registered Assessor.

From now on they can provide brief details about their rented property and EPC requirements on the Live EPC Enquiries notice board. This service is completely free for Landlords and Letting Agents.

Assessors, both registered and non-registered, will visit the Live EPC Enquiries section of the website regularly to check for work in their areas. Crucially, the enquiry appears anonymously until an Assessor registers and completes a telephone interview with EPC2Let, after which we pass on full details so that they can quote for the Landlord’s specific requirements.

You can view a simple step-by-step demonstration of how this works here.

If you would like to visit the Live EPC Enquiries page, simply click here.

  • EPC2Let at West of England Landlord Expo

    27th May 2008
EPC2Let recently exhibited at the West of England Landlord Expo and delivered two seminars on EPCs for the rental market.

We had around 60 visitors to our stand, mostly private Landlords, with a fair number of Letting Agents and a sprinkling of DEAs, most of whom registered their postcode areas with EPC2Let.com and remained with us for most of the day!

We discussed EPCs with Landlords and Letting Agents directly responsible for thousands of properties during the course of the day, and took notes on a number of queries regarding the legislation to which we will respond once guidance is finalised by CLG.

Our seminars were attended by around 80 people, around 70% were Landlords, 25% Letting Agents and 5% DEAs.

We polled some views about EPC sourcing and the results, from the 25 people who returned questionnaires were as follows;-

People willing to buy EPCs over the internet without meeting the DEA in person (2) 8%

People happy to use the internet for research but would finalise EPC ordering by meeting with a local Assessor (15) 60%

People who knew their local EPC suppliers already (2) 8%

People who need so many EPCs they will order before 1st October 2008 (6) 24%

People who will need EPCs in a concentrated period of high turnover of tenants (4) 16%

People who will buy EPCs only when needed for marketing after October 1st (12) 48%

We think this data, whilst it is a small sample, shows how the EPC2Let service is tuned in to the needs and preferences of Landlords and Letting Agents.
